Whether you’re a licensed real estate agent or a real estate investor, there are a variety of ways to market your real estate business. One effective marketing strategy that every real estate professional should engage in is real estate blogging. Here are a few blogging tips to live by:
1. Make sure you have sufficient content for your visitors to read.
One mistake many real estate professionals make when building a blog is posting a few blog articles and that’s it. When it comes to blogging, consistency is the key to a successful blog. One golden rule of blogging is to post at least 1-2 or more blog posts per week (every week).
Consider writing at least 10-15 blog posts in advance before launching your blog. Once complete, save your blog posts in draft format. Then publish each post every day so your visitors have fresh content to read on a regularly.
Imagine if you subscribed to your favorite print magazine or newspaper and the publisher only had 3 or 4 articles within a 12 month period. You would cancel your subscription and find another magazine or newspaper to read.
The same thing goes for blogging. If you want to have a successful blog with a consistent flow of visitors, you must have a sufficient amount of quality content available for them to read. Otherwise, they will get bored and move onto a better real estate blog site.
2. Add photos to your blog.
A professional blog should have high-resolution photos for each blog post. Visitors love attractive looking photos. You can post your own photos or you can purchase stock photos on the Internet. You can find affordable professional photos for your blog on sites like iStockphoto.
3. Spend quality time building your blog.
There is so much that you can do to enhance your blog. You can add plug-ins and videos. You can customize your blog template and so much more… But, it takes time and a little effort. If you don’t have time to maintain your blog, consider hiring someone to maintain your blog for you.
4. Should you use a free based blog or a customized blog?
If you want your blog readers to take your blog seriously, consider investing in a customized URL. A free based blog will have a URL extension like: yourblogname.companyname[dot]com or a customized URL like: yourblogname[dot]com.
